OUR STORY

Our Story

Artisan patisserie with a long-standing vocation for tradition and a leading company in Treviso for its quality and excellence. Our passion for our job drives us to seek and rediscover cakes and desserts from the past with a modern twist whilst retaining their traditional features. We are the only patisserie that has the three typical desserts of Treviso: the most famous dessert in the world, Tiramisu, Zonclada®, a local medieval dessert and Segno®, a dessert made with Treviso’s IGP variety of radicchio.

The Ardizzoni patisserie was established on 1 April 1964 by Franco, at the time a hopeful, determined and perhaps reckless 25-year-old who only had experience and was driven by the burden of the bills of exchange he had signed (as he fondly recalls). Together with his wife Ivana and his head confectioner Riccardo, he laid the foundations of our Patisserie. With a methodical search for the best raw materials, a professional approach and no compromises, year after year and with the perseverance only those working in the bakery area for 12 or 14 hours a day can guarantee, Ardizzoni became a reference point for customers and colleagues. In the mid-1980s, his son Alessandro started working with him, blending his father’s experience with the new techniques learnt by constantly keeping himself up to date with training courses and his special talent for manual creativity. His background in hotel management helped him manage the relentless change artisan companies are experiencing, especially because of too much red tape. After taking the reins of the company at the end of the 1990s, together with his wife Anna and his staff, Alessandro kept seeking constant improvement, whilst preserving the solid basis laid by his father.

 

 

OUR PRODUCTS

Our products

Our products range from fresh patisserie (choux pastries, petit fours, puff pastries, almond, ricotta and fruit cakes, semifreddos, including one of our fortes, the Meringata, mousses, profiteroles, wedding cakes, tiered cakes) to tea biscuits: 18th century biscuits typical of the Veneto region, tea biscuits and the Segno® and Zonclada® cakes mentioned earlier. Seasonal cakes: ‘fave dei morti’ biscuits with pine kernels, Castagnaccio, Panettone, Pinza Epifanica, Fritoe, Crostoli and Castagnole as Carnival desserts, la Focaccia for St Joseph’s day and the Colomba for Easter. We also male chocolate, pralines, chocolate bars and spreads, along with savoury pastries, for which we also offer a small catering service.
