The church, dedicated to Santa Maria Vittoria by Bishop Longhin, started to find its identity after the Great War victory which took place in this area in 1918. Later on, the last stone of the definitive church was placed by architect F. Scudo in 1935. The church gave its name to the nearby town, born from the ashes of the woods destroyed by the battle.
