Description Route

The route begins in the city of Follina, a city located at the foot of the Belluno Prealps, almost at the center of the chain, among rolling hills of morainic origin, in which the cultivation of vines and orchards stand out. We are here to visit an Abbey, that of Santa Maria, of the Benedictine foundation (800-1000). Click here to get more details on the history of this architecture. Spstandoci towards Cison di Valmarino, however, the stop is mandatory within one of the largest and oldest castles in Europe and can be reached by a panoramic funicular: Castelbrando. Click here to discover this wonderful castle. From Cison the route heads to Revine Lago passing through the Livelet Educational Archaeological Park, an open-air museum full of history and capable of attracting both adults and children. Past Revine lake you will return to Follina passing through Colmaggiore and Fratta, a territory rich in historical and territorial culture, able to give you serenity and lightheartedness but also to make you feel the sense of belonging to the land and to nature.
