Veronese is already famous for decorating some villas, an example is the villa Soranzo in Treviso sadly destroyed, where the artist portrays false architectural elements, stuccoes and mythological figures full of unexpected perspective views, He painted in 1551, another important cycle of frescoes in the Villa Soranzo in Treville designed by Michele Sanmicheli.
The frescoes are the celebration of the Arts and Virtues presided over by the goddess of Wisdom, to underline the fundamental role recognized in the study and exercise of the intellect in the fascinating context of the “Civilization of the Villa”, a phenomenon of absolute importance for the whole history of Venetian culture and Renaissance.
