THE FISH MARKET
Click for the Fish Market
One of the beating hearts in the city and the typical destination for sightseeing and taking pictures. There’s just one fish market in Treviso. It was built by the Austrians in 1856 by attaching several small islands on the Cagnan Grande. Because it is close to the square that holds the weekly fruit and vegetable market and also because of the numerous bars nearby, this is one of the busiest parts of the city. The small park with its geese and swans swimming in the adjacent waters, the benches and stands with the fresh fish and the fish vendors shouting and gesturing create an atmosphere that reminds you of the past.
