Pomponio Amalteo in 1549 realizes, for the Cathedral of Oderzo, a cycle of five paintings representing the Stories of the life of John the Baptist: they are the Baptist’s Birth, the Baptist’s Preaching, Christ’s Baptism, the Baptist’s Decollation and, finally, the Head of the Baptist at the banquet of Herod. These works are preserved in the choir of the Duomo organ until 1920.
